NEW BASSIST FOR TULL
Jethro Tull's Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond has left the band to return to painting and his place has been taken by American bass-player John Glascock.
Hammond-Hammond joined the band in 1971 in time to appear on Aqualung. He has, according to record company Chrysalis, retired from music completely.
"It's not a question of Tull splitting or anything like that," said a spokesman. "It's merely that Jeffrey wished to return to what was in effect his original interest."
Meanwhile, Tull are rehearsing in Switzerland with their new bass player and are planning an album for release in May.
