John's weather report varied slightly throughout the tour, but here is a typical example. His voice veered between the two extremes of blank boredom and strangulated bellowing. A roadie in a gorilla suit would gesticulate wildly behind him.

JE: Good evening, I am Bert Bored the weatherman. Now, tomorrow's weather will continue along much the same lines as today's, owing to various anti-cyclones, warm fronts, cold fronts, depressions, this . . sort of . . thing. Temperatures will be normal for the time of year, varying between 62 and 71 degrees, reaching a maximum of 75 degrees at approximately twenty-five past one in the afternoon.

AND NOW, FOR THE LONG-RANGE WEATHER FORECAST. Climactic conditions over the next few days will be much variegated. There will be several periods of sunshine, for example, and the occasional rain shower. Some typhoons. Tornadoes. HURRICANES. WHIRLWINDS. EARTHQUAKES. SAND STORMS. THE OCCASIONAL . . . tidal wave, this sort of thing. So, if you're going out over the next few days, please don't forget to take a large overcoat. But now I must hand you back to Michael.

JHH: Thank you and goodnight Robin. That just about wraps things up for this evening . . .
